Name of Bride - Sarah
Name of Groom - Robert
Date of wedding - 25th May 2015
Where was your wedding ceremony? – Our wedding ceremony was held in The Orangery at Braxted Park. We had a string trio playing in there which set the whole scene perfectly!
How many day guests? 68 (daytime) 90 (evening)
Tell us about your catering for the day: We had beautiful canapés of lobster burgers, mini fish & chips, duck pancakes and chicken ballotine - they were delicious. These were served with a choice of Pimms, half pints of lager or sparkling wine. For our meal we had a starter of sea trout on a bed of cucumber and lemon yoghurt. Our main was lamb with rosemary gnocchi and we had a trio of mini desserts (Eton mess, chocolate brownie and lemoncello mousse). The food was incredibly tasty.
Who was your photographer? Our photographer is Sean East, he was amazing throughout our whole day and captured the day perfectly. (Images shown are not the professional photographs by Sean East)
Tell us about your wedding outfits: We both got our outfit from a shop in Romford called 'Bridal Shop'. I got my dress first and fell in love with it straight away - it was the first one I had ever tried on! I went for a Stella York princess style dress with beading and crystals all over the body and scattered down the skirt of the dress. It was a style I didn’t expect to want or have but when I put it on I felt like a proper bride! I topped it off with a stunning veil with crystals elegantly stuck on and a real princess sparkly tiara. Hubby got his suit from the same shop, he went with a grey suit and pink cravat and hanky. The trousers where pinstripes and it looked gorgeous on him.
What flowers did you choose? My florist was a lovely lady called Adrienne Aslan. She created my bouquet, the bridesmaids’’ bouquets and a few arrangements for the venue, along with a corsage for both our mums and my Grandad's wife and the button holes for Rob, his ushers, our dads and my Grandad. I had mainly roses and they looked beautiful. I loved my bouquet so much my dad paid to have it preserved which I will get next year for my 1 year anniversary present! She couldn’t do enough for us and the flowers were worth every penny.
Tell us a little about your wedding cake? My beautiful bridesmaid Ashleigh made our wedding cake. We had cupcakes in a variety of flavours with shimmery white icing on top. She put them on a beautiful stand and the top tier was a traditional fruitcake. She topped this with plain white icing and tied a pink bow round. I ordered a personalised cake topper that said Mr & Mrs Lawlor and our wedding date and my florist bought some gypsophila flowers to put in between the cupcakes - it looked stunning! Tasted amazing too!
Did you have favours and table decorations? We hired Lacey event services for our table decorations, who provided chair covers with a pink sash and for the tables we had fish bowls with pink flowers inside and some scattered crystals and rose petals. They also put a Mr & Mrs sign on our cake table. We had one of the florist’s arrangements on the top table which looked beautiful. Our favours were from The Chocolate Favour Box Company. We had boxes in suit with pink tie style box for the men and the ladies had mini handbags with a pink bow. They looked so cute! And the choccys were yummy too.
Why did you choose Braxted Park and what did you think of the venue on your big day? Choosing Braxted Park was a VERY easy decision. I came to visit with my mum after seeing a few venues and we were both in tears at the same time. I just got a feeling about the place. It is absolutely stunning and everything about it was just perfect for what I wanted but I had to convince Rob this as well. I took him a few weeks later to see if he liked it as much as me. It didn’t take much convincing at all. We stopped looking for venues and got our date booked in.
The staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful from the first time I visited to our big day. We love the huge long driveway and the beautiful grounds and the fact there were so many places to capture gorgeous pictures. On the day itself Braxted Park made it the best wedding. All of my guests, even the picky ones, said it was the best wedding they had ever been to!
We were well and truly looked after and I could not imagine a better day. Upon arrival in the morning we were given walkie-talkies to speak to our front of house team which was great as the venue is so big and meant I didn’t have to find the staff if io needed them. The whole organisation of the day was on point and to my knowledge it went without a glitch. We had the most perfect day and I had the post wedding blues for sure after! We stayed in the cottage on the night of the wedding and were served the most delicious breakfast too.
I would recommend Braxted Park to anyone who wants an amazing wedding. It was worth every single penny spent on the day. Would not do anything differently! And I am so grateful to all the staff at Braxted Park who made it the most incredible day for me, my husband and our family and friends.
